What is it: The Metzeler Sportec 01 RS is the sharper, more track-focused sibling to the Sportec 01. While still fully road legal, the RS version turns up the aggression with a stickier compound and a stronger focus on dry grip, precision and track performance. If the Sportec 01 is built for fast road riding in all conditions, the 01 RS leans harder toward outright performance.
What tyre it replaces: The Sportec 01 RS is essentially a replacement for the Metzeler Racetec RR K3 but pushes it further into track-capable territory, sitting above the standard Sportec 01 and M9RR in terms of grip and track intent.
Who is it aimed at: The Sportec 01 RS is aimed at fast road riders and regular trackday enthusiasts who want a tyre that can handle serious pace without stepping up to full race rubber. It’s ideal for riders who prioritise dry grip, sharper feedback and stronger cornering performance, but still ride to and from the circuit.
Typically seen on: Expect to see the 01 RS fitted to Superbikes, Supersports and high-performance naked bikes — especially those used for spirited A-road riding and multiple trackdays per year.

The competition: The Sportec 01 RS lines up against tyres like the Michelin Power GP2, Bridgestone RS12 and Pirelli Supercorsa SP in the road/track hypersport segment.

SPORTEC 01 and the sportier SPORTEC 01 RS are designed to continue this successful tradition and have been developed to raise the bar for supersport performance even further. Both are dedicated to sporty riders looking for high performance and reliability and both take advantage of the patented DYNATREADâ„¢ technology -adopted for the first time with Metzeler ROADTEC 02, which results in an adaptive tread pattern that improves grip and stability at high speed, and which has been further improved to be exploited in the supersport field.
SPORTEC 01 RS is the most extreme version of SPORTEC 01, a road-legal tyre designed to offer high levels of grip and also suitable for track days. Compared to SPORTEC 01, this tyre provides greater grip and is therefore suitable for those who prefer even sportier riding on the road and also want to be able to ride on the track for pleasure using the same tyres they used to reach the circuit and without having to worry about transporting the bike to the track or changing tyres.

ALL TYRES HELD IN STOCK
Unlike some other retailers, all our tyres are located in the UK. If it shows as available on our website, then it's in stock. We dispatch 95% of orders within 24 hours and because they're shipped from the UK, you won't have delays or import charges.
