Motorcycle GPS trackers come in two formats: wired or wireless.
The wired versions are more common. You can install them yourself but you’re far better off getting them installed by a trained technician. Not only will they know the product well and have experience installing them but they’ll also know how best to conceal the tracker so that it remains difficult for a thief to detect and remove.
Here at Two Tyres, we’re an accredited fitting centre for the major motorcycle GPS trackers.
You can also use a portable tracker, which is faster to setup and, if you have multiple bikes, you can easily move the tracker around to the bike you’re using.
They all require a SIM card and most require a monthly subscription. A wired tracker has a few advantages over a portable one in that they won’t require you to replace the batteries. They come with a more comprehensive 24/7 support network with the ability to notify the police of the theft on your behalf. Wired motorcycle trackers are also Thatcham Approved which may help reduce your insurance premiums.
