You can transform the way your scooter feels with a decent set of tyres. Most scooters come on a budget tyre that’s suitable for a variety of conditions but they’re not excellent tyres and they certainly don’t bring the best out of your bike.
The best scooter tyres will offer more grip, better wear rate and a faster warm-up. They’re safer because they grip better, in all conditions. Good examples of quality scooter tyres are Bridgestone SC’s, Michelin City Grip 2 and the Anlas Tournee.
For winter riding, the major motorcycle tyre manufacturers offer tyres that are better in the wet, with a tread pattern designed to cut through the rain and help you feel your way through even the worst conditions. They’ll warm up quickly even when it’s near-freezing and they’ll work better in colder conditions. Good examples of scooter tyres that are great in the wet are Anlas Winter Grip 2 and Bridgestone SC2 Rain.

Scooter tyres aren’t expensive and the difference between a budget scooter tyre and a premium scooter tyre is only a few quid. So when it comes to replacing the tyres on your scooter, you don’t need to spend loads of money but don’t skimp and buy budget tyres; you want to ride with confidence and not a few extra quid in your pocket.
