Description
Dunlop’s mission with the new Sportsmart Mk3 was to create a sporty tyre that would work better in wet and dry conditions on the road and also handle trackdays. The additional requirement? That it delivers this performance right down to the wear markers.
Sitting above the Roadsmart 3 but below the more track-focused Sportsmart TT, the Sportsmart Mk3 is a brilliant tyre for fast road riders or those who want super-sharp handling, good wear and all-weather ability.
MCN’s Michael Neeves had this to say about their track prowess: “Fitted to a Kawasaki Z900 and the new ZX-6R it’s hard to unstick them at Parcmotor, especially on the naked Zed. The front has superb grip, by any level of tyre, although when you push really hard you’ll run out of edge grip on a supersport bike, but slides are predictable and never catch you out.”
The Dunlop SportSmart Mk 3 is a Hypersport tyre offering riders:
- Revised tread pattern for increased water channeling away from the contact patch.
- All-new compound formula delivers faster warm-up time and greater outright grip levels.
- Improved durability when compared with it’s SportSmart 2 Max predecessor.
- The successor to the SportSmart 2 Max, and aimed at fast road riders who may also do the occasional track day.

Called up and was able to get an appointment for the same day to replace both tyres on my BMW R1200 GSA. I cannot praise the service enough from Chris and the team and I will definitely be back for my next set of tyres!
Great service from these guys, I ordered on line and accidentally ordered two items the same, maybe clicked twice waiting for the page to change. They called me to check this wasn't a mistake (which it was) and immediately refunded me for the accidental purchase and sent out just one item. I know I'll be using them to get my tyres & tubes in future.
