Suzuki GSX-S1000 Tyre Size
The Suzuki GSX-S1000F, GT and GX all run a 120/70/17 front tyre and a 190/50/17 rear tyre. You can click those links to see all the different tyre options for this bike.
These are common motorcycle tyre sizes and so you have plenty of choice, whether you want a tyre for Touring, Commuting, Fast Road Riding, Off-Roading (and why not?!) or even Trackdays.
Suzuki GSX-S1000 GT tyres
The Suzuki GSX-S1000 GT runs the same tyre sizes as the other GSX-S1000 bikes in the range. The GT version comes with Dunlop’s Roadsmart 2 tyres. These are budget tyres – at best. You can massively improve the bike’s feel and performance with an upgraded pair of boots.
Suzuki GSX-S1000 GX tyres
Suzuki’s answer to the BMW S1000XR the new GX is essentially the same bike but on taller suspension. The tyres sizes are the same as the other versions and the tyres are also the same: Dunlop Roadsport 2.

Suzuki GSX-S1000Â Best Tyres
From what we see, the GSX-S1000, whether it’s the F, GT or GX models are all bought by riders who like to do a bit of everything. From fast road riding to two-up touring, commuting and even the occasional trackday.
The GT and GX versions have a similar audience but from our experience, customers with the GT and GX use them more for commuting and touring and owners of the F version seem to modify their bikes more and use them for weekend blasts.
We have split our GSX-S1000 tyre recommendations into two main categories: Fast Road for those who want a good all-weather tyre with ultimate grip and Touring / Commuting for those who want a tyre that’s great in all weathers, offers plenty of grip for real world use but also offers the best mileage returns. We’ve also got the Adventure sectionfor those (primarily on the GX) who want to ride trails or at least, look a bit more off-roady.
Fast Road
Some brilliant options for those who want a tyre that’s performance-focused.
Michelin Power 2CT – A very popular budget option
Touring / Commuting
Some great options at different price points.
Metzeler Roadtec Z8 – A budget but brilliant all-season tyre.
Bridgestone T32 – A hard wearing grippy all season tyre.
Michelin Road 6 – The most popular Sports Touring tyre, great in the wet.
Continental Road Attack 4 – A brilliant sporty tyre that brings out the handling of your bike and it’s excellent in the wet too.
Adventure
You won’t find all that many knobbly tyres in the 120/190 sizes, especially the 190/50 rear. So we’ve changed the 190/50 to a 190/55 (which is approximately 10mm taller) to give you a few rugged options.
Continental Trail Attack 3 – Fab road tyre with light trail ability
Dunlop Mutant Hybrid – One of the best wet weather tyres.
Pirelli Scorpion Trail 2 – A sporty tyre for adventure bikes.
