Home Michelin Motorcycle Tyres by Manufacturer Michelin Michelin Power Performance Slick
Description
We are now offering Michelin’s top-tier motorcycle slick, the Power Performance Slick. These slicks are designed for race use but can be used on trackdays.
We have thought long and hard before stocking these as they are not a ‘fit and forget’ slick.
Correct compound choice and pressure are critical for optimal use. If you are not in the Advanced group, we feel there are better options for you, and we’d suggest the Power Slick 2 if you want to try a slick Michelin that’s easy to work with.
Grip made to last
The tyre delivers consistent performance, lap after lap. Consistency achieved thanks to a footprint that is uniform over the various camber phases.
Warm-up
The tyre provides the grip needed from the first lap. The materials used allow the rubber to warm up quickly. It benefits from the latest technologies developed in MotoGPâ„¢.
Easy to control
Developed for racing to suit novice to professional riders and all types of motorcycles.
Compounds
The Michelin Power Performance Slick is available in a wide range of compounds, which is ideal for racers and seasoned trackday riders. These tyres are developed for racing and as such, tyre temperature and pressure is critical. However we have heard positive feedback about these tyres, their grip and longevity.
As you can see from the chart above, compounds choice depends on your riding ability and the ambient conditions. If you want a harder-wearing rear, we also offer Michelin’s Power Performance 24, which is a longer-lasting tyre but still offering excellent grip. If you are running the 190/60-17 rear, Michelin recommends running the Power Performance Slick front in a compound that suits the conditions and matching this with a Power Slick 2 rear.
Kenny Foray won the French Superbike Championship this year, using these tyres. This championship has an open tyre rule.
