THE NEW ROADSMART IV.

We spent a day riding on the new Dunlop Roadsmart 4 on a variety of bikes. It rained almost all day but that didn’t stop the Dunlops from performing well. We usually think of Dunlops as having a stiffer carcass, meaning they take longer to warm up but last longer than comparable tyres. However, the all-new design of these Roadsmart 4s means there’s no longer a compromise. They warm up quickly and provide plenty of grip, even in the wet. We struggled to get a Multistrada V4S to get out of shape, even in the wet.

The Roadsmart 4 tread pattern maintains all the advantages of its predecessor with the added benefit of superior wet performance and further improved consistency throughout its service life.

DFF-OPTIMISED MOULD PROFILE AND SECTION SHAPE

Using Dunlop’s proven DFF (Dynamic Front Formula) the front and rear tyres’ section shapes have been intricately optimised to offer both responsive handling and confidence-inspiring stability, even when riding two-up and carrying luggage.

INNOVATIVE PATTERN DEVELOPMENT

The new pattern will ensure faster warm up times and optimised wear thanks to the tuned tread stiffness and enhanced groove angles.

STAY OUT IN FRONT WITH OUTSTANDING CONFIDENCE – With the new RoadSmart IV, you’re free to just keep on touring. Used in Dunlop’s race tyres and available for the first time in sport-touring, JointLess Tread (JLT) and Multi-Tread (MT) reduce tyre wear and noise vibration. Casing Tension Control System (CTCS) gives more consistency between new and worn performance, so they’re stronger for longer.

COMMAND THE ROAD, EVEN IN THE WET – The optimised tread pattern and new compounds help you command the road with confidence, even in the wet. The revised tread pattern is designed to improve water evacuation.
