What is it: The Bridgestone BT-46 is a classic-styled road tyre that combines traditional looks with modern tyre technology. It’s designed for riders who want a tyre with confident grip, predictable handling and dependable all-weather performance on everyday roads — from urban commutes to weekend blasts.
What tyre it replaces: The BT46 is a newer version of the BT45 but the BT45 is still in production.
Who is it aimed at: The BT46 is aimed at riders who want a versatile road tyre that works in varied everyday conditions. Unlike some classic-focused tyres that target period machines only, the BT46 also suits commuters on smaller capacity bikes who want a tyre that’s comfortable, durable and reliable in daily use.
Typically seen on: You’ll see BT46s fitted to a wide range of bikes, from a Honda CBR600 to a Moto Guzzi V7. Classic and vintage machines to modern retro roadsters and smaller everyday commuters.
BT46 highlights: Retro-inspired tread with modern compound for balanced grip and longevity. Stable handling and good feedback for everyday riding conditions. Strong wet-weather capability for commuting and all-season use. Comfortable ride quality with predictable front/rear response.
BT46 tyre sizes: Available in 16″, 17″, 18″, 19″ and 21″ fronts and 16″, 17″ and 18″ rears.
The competition: The BT46 competes with the Michelin Road Classic, Pirelli Sport Demon and the Avon Roadrider MkII

- WET PERFORMANCE Upgraded wet performance with no impact on predecessor’s acknowledged wear resistance and dry handling performance by using a newly adapted single silica compound on the rear.
- REDUCED IRREGULAR WEAR Adopting an inverted V-shape front pattern – It tackles working forces on the tyre.
- UM APPLICATION Most of BT46 line-up will be UM application ready meaning that a Tubeless tyre can be mounted on a Tube-type rim if used with a tube.
BATTLAX BT46 tires are the successor to the popular Bridgestone BATTLAX BT45 tires, which have provided strong support for a variety of riders since their launch in 1998. Using cutting-edge technologies, Bridgestone succeeded in upgrading the BT45 tire’s wet performance, while maintaining the level of dry handling performance for which BT45 tires are known, to realize more stable riding on wet surfaces. Accordingly, BT46 tires can function on a variety of surfaces, whether riding in town, going on long touring trips, or driving on winding roads.
The lineup of BATTLAX BT46 tires is scheduled to be expanded by an additional 14 sizes in 2021 and another eight sizes in 2022. Bridgestone is committed to supporting a variety of riders with a broad lineup of BATTLAX and other tire brands.

ALL TYRES HELD IN STOCK
Unlike some other retailers, all our tyres are located in the UK. If it shows as available on our website, then it's in stock. We dispatch 95% of orders within 24 hours and because they're shipped from the UK, you won't have delays or import charges.
