CFMOTO 450MT Tyre Size
The 450MT series runs 90/90-21 front tyre and a 140/70/18 rear tyre.
The 140/70-18 isn’t all that common and we advise our customers to switch that out for a 140/80-18 because that opens up a whole load more tyre options, especially when it comes to proper off-road and enduro tyres.

CFMOTO 450MT History
The CFMOTO 450MT was launched as part of the brand’s push into the rapidly growing lightweight adventure bike market. Built around a new 449cc parallel-twin engine, the 450MT is aimed squarely at riders who want genuine off-road capability without the size, weight, or cost of a full-fat adventure bike.
Unlike many small-capacity “adventure styled” machines, the 450MT uses proper adventure wheel sizes, with a 21-inch front and 18-inch rear, giving it real off-road credentials. Suspension travel is generous, and the overall package is clearly influenced by established bikes such as the KTM 390 Adventure and Yamaha Tenere 700, albeit at a much lower price point.
The 450MT also represents a step forward in perceived quality for CFMOTO. Fit and finish are noticeably improved over earlier models, and the bike has been well received for offering strong value rather than outright performance. As with many newer CFMOTO models, the focus is on affordability, usability, and equipment rather than headline power figures.
CFMOTO 450MT Stock Tyres
The stock tyres on the 450MT vary, depending on your country and the model year. However most UK bikes came with CST RideAmbro A4 tyres as standard. We don’t rate CST tyres, so we don’t stock these.
However they are a similar tyre to Pirelli’s Scorpion Rally STR.
CFMOTO 450MT Best Tyres
Road riding:
If you bought a CFMOTO 450MT purely for road riding, we’d (cautiously) suggest you’ve bought the wrong bike. That 21″ front wheel is going to reduce your cornering capability but we have a few pure road tyre suggestions that will help you get the best from the MT.
Light off-road:
If you fancy a bit of green lane action but you also want a tyre that’s competent on the road, check these out.
Proper off-road:
Serious knobblies for proper off-road action
Or Kenda Big Block if you’re on a budget
Triumph Tiger 800 Tyre Pressures
You can find your motorcycle manufacturer’s recommended tyre pressures in your owner’s handbook. You’ll also find a tyre pressure chart sticker on the swingarm.
If you have no idea what pressures to run, this is our general rule:
Scooter: F 30psi, R 30psi
Normal Motorcycle: F 36psi, R 42psi
Big Tourer: F 42psi, R 42psi
125cc Bike: F 33psi, R 36psi
You should always check your tyre pressures when the tyres are cold. Check out our range of motorcycle tyre pressure gauges here.
