Voge DS800X Rally Tyre Guide

Our pick of the tyres best suited to the Voge DS800X Rally, whether you’re going green-laning, properly off-roading or sticking to the tarmac.

Voge DS800X Rally Tyre Size

The Voge DS800X Rally runs a 90/90/21 front tyre and a 150/70/18 rear tyre.  You can click those links to see all the different tyre options for this bike.

Here at Two Tyres we’re motorcycle tyre specialists and can supply any tyre to you by mail order. Or you can have them fitted in our London motorcycle workshop.

One of the great things Voge have done with the 800 is equip it with a 21″ front wheel and an 18″ rear, which a very common combination on Enduro and Off-Road bikes – meaning you can fit some very good knobbly tyres if you want to go off-road. They could have easily given it a 19″ front and 17″ rear which many Adventure-style bikes have and this would limit the off-road potential.

The skinny 21″ front wheel isn’t the ideal size for road riders. However if you’re purely riding on the road, we’ve also suggested some great options to give you maximum feel, grip and confidence.

Voge DS800X Rally history

The Voge DS800X Rally has emerged as one of the most talked-about middleweight adventure bikes in recent UK and European sales data. Built around a 798 cc parallel-twin engine, the DS800X is designed to offer a serious adventure-oriented experience without the weight and complexity of heavyweight rivals.

Unlike some budget adventure bikes that merely add adventure styling to road-biased platforms, the DS800X Rally genuinely leans into the rally and off-road ethos. Its long-travel suspension, upright ergonomics and 21-inch front wheel give it real capability on gravel, trail and rougher back-roads, while modern electronics and a comfortable seat make it a credible tourer. It has even topped UK adventure bike charts, outperforming much more established competition — a remarkable achievement for a relatively new brand.

For riders looking for a bike that can handle muddy tracks, gravel passes and long road days with equal confidence, the Voge DS800X Rally blends practicality, capability and value in a way that’s winning attention from riders and reviewers alike.

Voge DS800X Rally Stock Tyres

The Rally comes with Pirelli’s Scorpion Rally STR tyres as standard.

These are good quality tyres, so well done, Voge!

Best Tyres for the Voge DS800X Rally

The OEM Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tyres are good quality dual-purpose tyres and a good choice if you’re doing a bit of everything on the bike.

However, if you’re a pure road rider or looking to spend most of your time off-road, there are some far better options for you.

Pure Road

If you’re not taking your Rally down anything more sinister than a gravel track, then these are great options for the pure road riders.

Metzeler Tourance Next 2

Continental Trail Attack 3

Pirelli Scorpion Trail 2

Dual Purpose

The original-fitment Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tyres are dual purpose tyres. They’re not the best on the road, nor amazing off-road but if you want a do-it-all tyre, they’re a good option. Here are a couple of other suggestions.

Dunlop Trailmax Mission

Continental TKC70 – Slightly more road-biased, central belt reduces vibration on the road

Michelin Anakee Adventure 2

Off-Road

If you’re heading off-road often, then these tyres are capable of taking on any terrain.

Bridgestone AX41

Metzeler Karoo 4 – As used by the Simon Pavey BMW Off-Road School

Michelin Anakee Wild

Are your tyre pressures letting you down?

We couldn’t find a tyre pressure gauge that was well-built, easy to get on-and-off the valve without pressure loss and could stand up to day-to-day abuse in our workshop. So we found a manufacturer to build one to our exacting standards.

We’re confident this is the best motorcycle pressure gauge out there. That’s why it comes with a 3-year, no-nonsense, money back guarantee.

Whether you want a digital tyre pressure gauge or a good old-fashioned analogue pressure gauge, we’ve got a gauge for you. Now you can quickly and easily check your pressures, to keep your bike handling well and to ensure you stay safe.
