Triumph Tiger 1050 Sport History
Is the Tiger 1050 one of the hidden gems in Triumph’s range? We think so. For years the Street Triple and Daytona have been the main talking points and more recently the Adventure bike range is coming to the fore. However, the Tiger 1050 was first introduced in 2006 and has ticked along without much fuss. The revised Tiger 1050 Sport was launched in 2012 and quietly went about its business as a great sport-touring tool, with a blend of Adventure bike styling. It can cut it on a twisty B-road, a long motorway trip and you can even do a bit of trail riding on it.
The original model ran from 2006 to 2011 and the revised 1050 Sport was introduced in 2012 and is still in production.

Triumph Tiger 1050 Sport Stock Tyres
The Tiger came with Pirelli Angel ST tyres as OEM. These are good tyres for stock tyres.
Triumph Tiger 1050 Sport Best Tyres
The Angel ST tyres are decent. They have since been superseded with the Pirelli Angel GT and now the Angel GT2.
Depending on what you use your Tiger 1050 for, you could fit tyres that are designed for sportier riding or tyres designed for higher mileage and better suited to commuting and all-weather grip.
Sticky tyre options
If you like to use your 1050 for fast road riding, we think these tyres are better options than the stock tyres supplied with the bike.
All-weather options
The stock tyres are good for distance work and wet-weather grip. If you want improved performance or a good budget option, check out these tyres:
