Description
Bridgestone’s H50 is a popular cruiser tyre. It helps give your cruiser light and precise handling while at the same time offering a cushioned and well-supported ride. The result is a bike that feels planted and effortless to ride. Bridgestone have also worked on the H50’s wear rate, improving the mileage you’ll see from these tyres.
Bridgestone says:

HIGH CORNERING POWER – With the new H50 on the front, your heavy bike only needs a light touch, for easy and precise cornering.
LONG LASTING – You can lay down the miles with the H50; our aim is to give you a tyre that lasts a lot longer than other big-name tyres.
SMOOTH, EASY RIDE – Bridgestone has improved the vibration damping and shock absorption on the front tyre, for a smooth easy ride, even on long trips.

Press Reviews
“Those of you familiar with Florida’s landscape will know sexy roads are scarce. Our route wasn’t exactly teaming with corners, which is no bad thing when you consider the complete lack of ground clearance on these things. If there’s one aspect I did learn about the H50, it was its stability without sacrificing feedback and road-tracking capabilities. Over-banding and iffy surfaces are rife on the roads around Orlando, and even the 883 was tracking superbly, never protesting at the muck beneath.
After a sore botty and fuzzy fingers, I switched off Grinder. And also switched from the 883 to an Indian Scout – another bike that’s escaped me in the past. Fast, sporty and relatively vibe-free, the pace was promptly faster and we could actually punish the tyre to an extent.”
“There were several Indian Scouts present with their OE Kendas fitted. Keen to suss the competition, I swapped the H50-shod Scout as a barometer. Instantly, the bike felt sloppy and lethargic to steer, and as soon as any meaningful lean angle was dialled in, it was akin to riding a blancmange. On swapping back to the Bridgestone H50 bike for the return jaunt, the Scout was more agile, taut, lighter on its springs and generally far sportier. I’m guessing Indian gets a good deal from Kenda on OE rubber.
Of course, the extent of my comparison ammunition is negligible to say the least, but I can say the H50 is a damn good tyre ridden in isolation – and head-to-head against the competitor at hand. This market is all about mileage, grip and handing, and it eased the latter two cruiser prerequisites in Orlando.” – 44Teeth’s Review

“The absence of corners gave me plenty of chances to find the nastiest pieces of road – white lines, over banding and an occasional poorly-maintained stretch of tarmac of concrete – to try and unsettle the H50s but to no avail; they tracked true, barely acknowledging the challenge.” – American V

“Being a larger chap and wanting to sample Bridgestone’s new tyre on a machine resembling the best sellers in the category, I chose the Softail Slim first – effectively a narrow rear-tyred version of the popular, retro-styled Fat Boy. And despite the undramatic nature of the roads I was immediately impressed. Admittedly, in the space of an afternoon’s ride, we were never likely to find out much about the new Bridgestone’s claimed improved durability. But what was conspicuous immediately was its light and precise steering, something you’d never normally associate with a long, low and heavy cruiser.
Better still, once we finally hit a section of sweeping S-bends deep in the mid-Florida Everglades, the newcomers’ impressive grip – well, at least for a cruiser tyre – became apparent as well. The Harley could easily and happily be thrown right on its side, or at least until its footboards touched down, creating a shower or sparks all the way round the turn for as long as you liked. Now, I know this isn’t the usual barometer of a motorcycle tyre’s grip and it’s also true that, with a little bit of bravado, most footboard-equipped Hogs can be persuaded into such antics pretty much whatever tyres they’re wearing (normal H-D OE tyres, by the way, are fairly uninspiring Harley-Davidson-branded Dunlops), but it was startlingly easy on the new Bridgestones – and great fun too!
The same was just as true when I switched to one of the Indian Scouts. Compared to the big Softail, the Scout’s a genuine roadster that bears comparison, in terms of its dynamics and all-round prowess, to not just cruisers but even bikes as sporty as Ducati’s Monster or BMW’s R1200R.
It’s also worth mentioning here that the Scout’s OE tyre is currently a fairly cheap and uninspiring Kendra and is one of the few areas of criticism on the stock machine. So the revelation that the Scout was positively transformed by the new Bridgestones probably shouldn’t come as much of a surprise. While stability and comfort was barely changed, when manouvring in confined spaces such as a car park it was noticeably more nimble and easier to manage while at speed through the few turns we could find it was at once quick to steer, light on its wheels and lively but at the same time completely reassuring grip-wise. Simply, the new H50s made an already good bike into a far better one.”- Phil West, Bike Social
