Mitas tyres can trace its roots back to 1933 when it was started by Michelin. The name Mitas was coined in 1947 as a blend of Michelin and Veritas – a company that made pram wheels at the time.
Since then Mitas was bought by Yokohama tyres and it has been producing motorcycle tyres for decades.
Although Mitas produce tyres for motorcycles and scooters, they are arguably best-known for their off-road, Adventure and Enduro tyres. While still slightly under the radar of most riders, Mitas are a common OEM fitment on many new KTM models.
