Motorcycle Fork Service

The most common issue we see is leaking fork seals, which can happen due to the state of London’s roads. Hit a big pot hole or speed bump and your forks might compress with such force the seals will blow and start to weep or leak. This isn’t good as the fork oil can end up on your tyre and cause you to lose traction.

Even forks that aren’t leaking need servicing as the oil degrades over time meaning your suspension doesn’t work as well as it could. It’s not dangerous but you’ll notice the difference when you get your forks refurbished, rebuilt and repaired with our London-based motorcycle fork rebuild service.

Our motorcycle fork servicing:

> Removal of front forks

> Strip all parts and inspect for damage

> Check fork stanchion for damage or wear

> Recondition pistons

> Replace oil seals, dust seals and bushes

> Rebuild using the manufacturer’s specified fork oil weight and volume

> Re-fit front forks to customer’s motorcycle

Front Fork Alignment Check

If you’ve been involved in a prang or you’ve bought a bike and it doesn’t ride how you think it should, we can take a look at the front fork alignment to check that they are straight, not bent and rule out that issue. When we’re changing tyres on bikes in our London workshop we do occasionally get a bike in where the forks are out of line which can cause the bike to handle strangely and usually causes the tyre to wear unevenly too.

Rear Shock Fitting

If you’ve bought an aftermarket shock like an Öhlins, K-Tech or Nitron and you need someone to fit it, we can do that for you.

Standard suspension is an area where motorcycle manufacturers tend to save money, even on sportsbikes. The OEM suspension that’s supplied as standard on your motorcycle is good enough for most applications. However if you’re looking for that extra feel or refinement and you want to improve your motorcycle’s handling, then aftermarket rear suspension makes all the difference.
