Here at Two Tyres you can charge your electric motorcycle or scooter for free.
The majority of electric motorcycles and scooters use a 3-pin plug to charge at a maximum of 3kW, although some of the top-end electric bikes can charge at 12kW.
Plug it in and catch up on emails
If you’re out and about and you need to boost the range of your electric motorcycle or scooter you can plug your charger in at our workshop, grab a coffee around the corner or work from our waiting room. We have free WiFi, a drinks fridge, a TV and a desk area you can work from.
Electric Motorcycle Charging Times
Below we’ve listed the typical charging time for a Zero SR/F – which has a large 14.4 kWh battery – as follows:
Standard trim (3kW): 4 hours to 95% charged (24%/hr)
Premium trim (6kW): 2 hours to 95% charged (48%/hr)
Standard trim with rapid charge (9 kW): 1 hr 12 minutes to 95 % charged (71%/hr)
Premium trim with rapid charge (12 kW): 1 hour to 95% charged (95%/hr)
The Zero can be specified with a Type 2 charger (the one more commonly seen on electric cars) and this allows you to move up to a 6kW+ charger, however we don’t currently have one of these.
But if you plug your scooter or motorcycle in at ours for an hour on a 3kW line, grab some lunch or catch up on your emails, you’ll probably add another 25% to your range, for free.

Electric motorcycle benefits
There are many benefits with electric motorcycles and scooters. There’s next to no maintenance required; the service schedules are usually every two years and involve far less labour than a petrol equivalent because there’s no oil to change, no spark plugs or valves to check. They’re automatic and have no clutch or gears meaning they are easy to ride. Some of them include more storage due to the fact there’s no petrol tank.
