How long does tyre fitting take?

1 min read

The time required to fit motorcycle tyres depends on several factors, including the type of motorcycle, wheel design, tyre specification, and whether one or both tyres are being replaced.

As a general guide, fitting a single tyre typically takes around 25 minutes for a front and around 35 minutes for a rear tyre. We have a set price for standard motorcycle tyre fitting and allocate 1-hour to fit a pair of tyres to a standard motorcycle.

Motorcycles like cruisers and scooters are charged by the hour. Often, a pair of tyres can be fitted within this tim,e and it is no more expensive than a regular motorcycle. However, some Cruisers and Scooters require additional labour to replace the tyres. For example, exhausts may need to be removed to access axle nuts or to have enough clearance to remove the rear wheel without risking any damage.

We balance all wheels and fit new valves with every tyre change. If your tyre requires inner tubes, we can supply and fit these. We will advise you on the condition of your inner tubes but we almost always replace inner tubes – not to try and make more money – but to minimise the risk of you getting a puncture from an inner tube that’s past best. It can be a false economy trying to get a few more miles from a worn inner tube.

Please note that fitting times are estimates and can vary depending on workshop workload on the day. While we aim to keep to booked appointment times, occasional delays can occur.

If you are on a tight schedule, we recommend allowing some flexibility and letting our team know in advance if timing is critical.
