It’s unlikely that using your bike on the dyno will ruin a tyre but it can put it under increased load and wear it out faster than on the road.
A dyno roller is a metal cylinder with a rough metal surface in order to grip the tyre. If your tyre is old or underinflated, the dyno could wear through the tread or generate excessive heat but is unlikely to do so. Some dyno operators will increase the rear tyre’s pressure in order to minimise the drag produced by the tyre and increase the power output reading.
The total mileage covered in a typical set of dyno runs is very small and so while the tyre load is high, the distance is low and so the issue of wear and damage is minimal and not worth worrying about.
