Ducati Supersport History
The first Ducati SuperSport was introduced in 1988.
This latest series, introduced in 2017 carries on from the Supersports of the past in that they’re a more real-world sports bikes for Ducati fans.
While they’re definitely not tourers, it feels like short-changing the Supersport to call it a Sports-Tourer as it’s far more Sport than Touring. The 937cc engine is the same one as used in the Multistrada 950 but the chassis is shared with the Monster.
In terms of point to point speed from A to B on a UK road, the Supersport is going to be just as quick as Ducati’s baby Panigale Superbike and a lot more comfortable too. So ask yourself, does that make the Supersport a Sports Tourer or a real-world sportsbike?
