Ducati Streetfighter V2 Tyre Guide

Our best tyre choices for the Ducati V2 Streetfighter. Whether you commute, tour or ride like a nutter.

Ducati Streetfighter V2 Tyre Size

The V2 Streetfighter runs a 120/70/17 front tyre and a 180/60/17 rear tyre.

By clicking the links above you’ll be taken to a list of every tyre we sell in that size. However, below you will find some of our recommended options for the ‘baby’ Streetfighter.

Here at Two Tyres we specialise in motorcycle tyres and we’re a manufacturer-approved fitting centre. We can supply any motorcycle tyre to you by mail order or you can have them fitted in our London motorcycle workshop.

Most V2 owners use their bike for weekend thrills and trackdays but they’re more than capable of taking on a European tour or even the daily commute. It makes sense to fit a quality tyre that’ll warm up quickly, offer plenty of edge grip and return good mileage. A budget tyre won’t cut it on this model.

The V2 tyre sizes are quite common, although that 180/60 rear tyre size does limit your options compared to the 180/55. Ducati and Aprilia are pretty much the only manufacturers that use a 180/60 (it’s a slightly taller tyre than the 180/55).

That said, even with a 180/60 you still have plenty of choice, whether you want a tyre for Trackdays, Commuting, Fast Road Riding or that touring trip to Europe.

Ducati Streetfighter V2 History

Introduced mid-2022, the Streetfighter V2 is essentially a Panigale V2 but minus the fairings. It carries on the tradition of the ‘baby’ Streetfighters in that it’s more nimble, more usable and more rewarding than the bigger V4 Streetfighter. Compared to the Streetfighter 848, the V2 has a higher-revving engine, more safety aids and a taller profile rear tyre. One thing hasn’t changed; it’s still a brilliant A-road assassin!

Ducati Streetfighter V2 Stock Tyres

The V2 model comes with Pirelli Rosso 4 tyres as standard. These are good quality Sports tyres.

Streetfighter V2 Best Tyres

Typically the V2 is a bike for the biker who wants one do-it-all weapon in the garage. Most are used for pleasure riding but we do have customers who use them to commute and some who use them on track. Whatever you use your V2 for, here are our recommended tyre options:

Fast Road Riding

The standard Rosso 4s are great tyres. However if you want a little bit more performance than check out the below.

Dunlop Sportsmart TT

Pirelli Rosso IV Corsa – Essentially a Rosso 4 in the central section with Supercorsa SP shoulders.

Trackdays

If you’re riding to trackdays or just vanning the bike there, these tyres will give you all the edge grip you need to stay at the sharp-end of the fast group.

Continental ContiRace Attack 2 – Superbly sticky track specials

Dunlop D213GP Pro

Pirelli Supercorsa V4 SP – The same fitment as a Panigale V4S

Metzeler Racetec RR  K3

Commuting

If you want the ultimate in fast warm-up, wet weather ability and mileage then check out these sports-touring tyres. You’ll have to switch to a 180/55 from the 180/60 rear but that only changes the height of the tyre, by approximately 8-10mm. If you’re riding in all weathers or planning that European trip, these are well worth considering. They have all the grip anyone could need on the road.

Continental Road Attack 4

Pirelli Angel GT2

Touring

If you are after the best mileage and a tyre that grips in all conditions, check out the options below. Again you’ll need to switch to the 180/55 profile on the rear.

Metzeler Roadtec 02

Dunlop Roadsmart 4

Bridgestone T32

Ducati Panigale V2 Tyre Pressures

You can find your motorcycle manufacturer’s recommended tyre pressures in your owner’s handbook. You’ll also find a tyre pressure chart sticker on the swingarm.

If you have no idea what pressures to run, this is our general rule:

Scooter: F 30psi, R 30psi

Normal Motorcycle: F 36psi, R 42psi

Big Tourer: F 42psi, R 42psi

125cc Bike: F 33psi, R 36psi

You should always check your tyre pressures when the tyres are cold. Check out our range of motorcycle tyre pressure gauges here.

Are your tyre pressures letting you down?

We couldn’t find a tyre pressure gauge that was well-built, easy to get on-and-off the valve without pressure loss and could stand up to day-to-day abuse in our workshop. So we found a manufacturer to build one to our exacting standards.

We’re confident this is the best motorcycle pressure gauge out there. That’s why it comes with a 3-year, no-nonsense, money back guarantee.

Whether you want a digital tyre pressure gauge or a good old-fashioned analogue pressure gauge, we’ve got a gauge for you. Now you can quickly and easily check your pressures, to keep your bike handling well and to ensure you stay safe.

Here at Two Tyres, we stock more than just tyres. Take a look at some of our essentials for any biker.
