CFMOTO 800MT History
The CFMOTO 800MT represents a significant step up from the 700MT, both in terms of performance and ambition. Powered by a larger 799cc parallel-twin engine, the 800MT was designed to compete directly with established middleweight adventure bikes, offering more power, higher specification components and a stronger touring focus.
The 800MT range includes several variants, but in the UK market the 800MT-X is the most commonly available model. The MT-X is the more off-road-oriented version, featuring a 21-inch front wheel and longer suspension travel, making it better suited to rough terrain than the road-biased 800MT variants.
While the standard 800MT leans towards touring and road use, the 800MT-X is aimed at riders who want genuine adventure capability without stepping into heavyweight territory.
CFMOTO 800MTÂ Stock Tyres
The stock tyres on the 800MT vary depending on the model year and country but in the UK most have been supplied with Maxis MaxxVenture tyres.
On the 800MT-X most are supplied with CST Ride Ambro A4 tyres.
These are budget tyres and while perfectly adequate for road riding or light, dry green laning, you can definitely fit much better tyres that’ll give you more feel, feedback and confidence no matter what you’re riding on.
