As motorcycle tyre specialists, accredited by the major manufacturers, we can supply any tyre to you by mail order or you can have them fitted in our London motorcycle workshop.
Most K-series owners use their bikes all year round for fast road riding and touring but we do have some customers who trackday their S models.
Whatever you’re using your bike for, it makes sense to fit a quality tyre that’ll warm up quickly, offer plenty of edge grip and return good mileage to handle all that power.
The K-series tyre sizes are common and so you have plenty of choices, whether you want a tyre for Commuting, Fast Road Riding or that touring trip to Europe.

BMW K1200 and K1300Â Stock Tyres
The K1200S was launched in 2004 on Bridgestone BT-014 or Metzeler Sportec M1 radial tyres depending on your country. The K1300S was launched in 2008, on the sportier Continental Sport Attack tyres.
The modern equivalents of these tyres are the Bridgestone S22, the Metzeler M9RR and the Continental Sport Attack 4.
If your bike is running a 190/50 tyre as standard, you can switch that to the slightly taller 190/55. This will raise the rear by 10mm. It is a good option as it will sharpen up the handling of the bike but it will also open out more tyre options as the 55-profile is available in far more models than the 190/50.
K-Series Best Tyres
Typically the K-bikes are used all year long for touring and fast road riding but we do have plenty of customers who use them to commute. We even have a few customers who trackday their S-models. Whatever you use your bike for, these are our recommended tyre options:
Commuting and All Season Riding
Fast warm-up, good mileage and good wet-weather ability. These are the perfect choice for most road riders.
Budget pick: Pirelli Angel GT
Touring
Hard-wearing, dual compound tyres to give you the best return on mileage, while being sporty enough for the twisties and can handle all weathers and two-up riding.
Fast Road Riding
If you’re looking for incredible handling and grip, these are the ones to go for. Sporty tyres that ought to return a minimum of 3,000 miles and will deal with UK weather conditions, i.e. a downpour in the middle of summer.
Trackdays
These tyres are extreme road tyres that have very sticky shoulders, making them ideal for trackdays. They’re road legal, you won’t need tyre warmers – the ultimate in grip. Ideal if you want to surprise a few sportsbike riders.
BMW K-series Tyre Pressures
You can find your motorcycle manufacturer’s recommended tyre pressures in your owner’s handbook. You’ll also find a tyre pressure chart sticker on the swingarm.
If you have no idea what pressures to run, this is our general rule:
Normal Motorcycle: F 36psi, R 42psi (2.5bar / 2.9bar)
Big Tourer: F 38psi, R 42psi
You should always check your tyre pressures when the tyres are cold. Check out our range of motorcycle tyre pressure gauges here.
