The short answer is no.
Riding on a completely flat tyre isn’t safe but there may be times when you might feel you need to.
You’ll most likely end up with a flat tyre if you get a puncture. You may also experience a flat tyre if the tyre has temporarily parted company with the rim in any way.
This can happen if you hit a particularly deep pothole or if the bike is involved in a crash. It can also happen if you do something silly like try to ride up a tall kerb at speed.
It’s a good idea to carry a motorcycle puncture repair kit with you to prevent the above from leaving you immobile. With a kit like this you can fit a puncture or just use the gas canisters to re-inflate the tyre.
If you’ve ever tried to ride your motorcycle with a flat front tyre, you’ll know how risky it is. Even on a motorcycle running 15psi in the front tyre, you’ll be lucky to make it around the first corner. So a tyre with 3psi in it is going to be lethal.
A flat rear tyre is slightly less hazardous but still difficult to ride on. In an ideal world you’ll put some pressure back in your tyre, even if it has a puncture, and get it to your local motorcycle workshop to get it sorted.
If you are in any doubt, get the bike recovered in a van or on a low-loader as this is far safer than trying to ride it.
