We've put some miles on these on our ZX-10R (pictured) and they are excellent; loads of feel and edge grip.

The Two Tyres 1-minute guide to the Pirelli Diablo Rosso 4
What is it:Â The Pirelli Diablo Rosso 4 is Pirelli’s new motorcycle tyre for fast road riders. The tyre is available in both dual and tri-compound versions. All rear tyres up to 190/50/17 feature a dual compound, three-zone construction, with a hard-wearing central belt and then a softer compound on each of the tyre’s shoulders. For tyre sizes 190/55/17 and above, the Diablo Rosso 4 features an incredible tri-compound, five-zone construction. The shoulders of the 200/55 Rosso 4 are wider and now look like those of a 200/60 tyre, which improves direction change and stability mid corner. There’s also a new profile for the 120/70/17 front tyre which has been developed to mirror the profiles of tyres used in World Superbikes. Although the Diablo Rosso 4 is still a 120-section front, it features a marginally wider section due to its revised shape, which is designed to improve edge grip.
What tyre it replaces: The Rosso 4 was introduced in early 2021 and replaced the Rosso 3.
Who is it aimed at: If you want to take advantage of Pirelli’s racing technology but you need a tyre that also works in the wet and on UK roads, the Rosso 4 is a good option. It’s a real-world tyre for riders of performance bikes who want a tyre that brings out the best of your bike’s handling and allows you to exploit the bike’s abilities on the road.
Typically seen on: The Rosso 4 is a good fit for fast road riders on bikes like the Honda FireBlade, Triumph Street Triple, Kawasaki ZZR1400, KTM RC8 and Ducati Monster 821. It’s the OEM tyre for the new Aprilia RS660.
Diablo Rosso 4 highlights: Multi compound front and rear offer the best blend of grip and longevity. Revised front tyre profile mirrors the WSBK tyres and puts more rubber on the ground at lean.
Diablo Rosso 4 sizes: Currently available for middleweight to ‘big bike’ sizes. Fits almost all middleweight roadsters and every Sportsbike and Superbike.
A more extreme option: The Pirelli Diablo Rosso 4 is Pirelli’s fast-road tyre, whereas the Rosso 4 Corsa is designed with trackdays in mind. That’s not to say you couldn’t take the Rosso 4 on track and have a great time – you most certainly could. But if your road riding is only on the sunniest of summer days or you intend to take your bike on a few trackdays, the Pirelli Rosso IV Corsa is even stickier.
A budget option: Now the Rosso 4 is on the scene, we’ve decreased the prices of the Rosso 3 and Rosso 2 making them even better value for money.
The competition: This is a seriously hot category and we’re spoilt for choice. The Rosso 4 goes up against the Metzeler M9RR, the Bridgestone S22, the Michelin Power 5 and lesser-known but still brilliant Continental Sport Attack 4.

Motorrad Test Winner 2022
Top German Magazine, Motorrad, have just published (March 2022) a comparative test of the best six supersport tyres currently available on the market. Motorrad tests are considered a benchmark in the tyre and motorcycle sector, because they are carried out not only on closed circuits but also on roads with different asphalt conditions and reaching over 1,500 miles of wear.
Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV was confirmed as the best supersport tyre on the market.
