Description
The Two Tyres 1-minute guide to the Bridgestone R11
What is it: The R11 is Bridgestone’s stickiest road-legal sports tyre. Truth be told it’ll be more at home on the track over here in the UK than it is on the road. However, in the right conditions (proper tyre pressures, lots of time to warm them up, hot and dry roads) they’ll give you a riding experience as close as possible to slicks. You’ll be hard-pressed to experience a better tyre but this is an extreme road option.
What tyre it replaces: Bridgestone R10
Who is it aimed at: The Superbike rider who’s in to trackdays.
Typically seen on: Yamaha R1M, Honda CBR1000RR FireBlade
A more road-focused option: If you aren’t planning on taking your bike on track or if you ride on more than just the sunniest summer days, you’ll be better off with the Bridgestone RS11, which is still an incredible tyre but it has a wider operating scope than the R11. The RS11 is still an extreme tyre but it’ll warm up slightly faster and retain the surface temperature better than the R11. If you’re a pure road rider, go for the Bridgestone S22 which is a brilliant real-world Sports tyre, ideal for sportsbike riders who want grip, comfort and mileage.
A more track-focused option: Bridgestone V02 Slick
Bridgestone R11 highlights: One of the best front ends in the business. Two different compounds to help you get the best from your bike or track conditions.
Bridgestone R11 sizes: From 110/70-17 fronts for the smaller bikes right up to 200-section rears for the Superbikes.
Also worth a look: The R11 is a close match to the Pirelli Supercorsa SC but the general consensus is that the Bridgestone doesn’t quite offer the same grip but lasts much longer. Still, you’re looking at around 2,000 miles from an R11 on the road, compared to around 1,500 from the Pirelli.

- CONTACT FEEL ON ENTRY CORNER
New viable mono spiral belt construction is optimizing the spacing between the HTSPC wire system to change the rigidity to its optimum all over the thread area. - GRIP ON THE BRAKES AND ACCELERATION
Higher pressure on the contact patch generating more cornering force from lower camber angles is providing maximum grip feel in the braking zone. Moving the boundery limits of the friction circle is generating higher traction power in the acceleration phase. - CONSISTENCY
Adopting the GP belt construction on top of the VMSB optimises the homogeneity of the contact patch behaviour for maximum consistency. - LARGE OPERATING RANGE
Available in two compounds covering both a large operating range for different track severity and conditions.
Bridgestone R11 vs Pirelli Supercorsa
Both are great track-ready tyres. The Diablo Supercorsa V2 or V3 SC, the general consensus is that the Pirelli is stickier but doesn’t last as long.
Introducing the RACING R11: improved specification is designed to shave seconds off lap times while maintaining ease of handling
Leveraging Bridgestone’s proprietary ULTIMAT EYE? analysis technology and the newly developed V-MS・BELT construction, this tyre achieves more uniform distribution of contact pressure while cornering. Because this reduces lateral slides when applying power to drive out of corners, it allows to open the throttle earlier at the corner exit. Although it is a tyre designed for the circuit, the high level of grip and the firm contact increase confidence and safer handling.
Recommended for:
● Riders who ride the track at various riding events and who ride for sports.
● Riders who want to win production races.
● Riders who can properly adjust the vehicle setting, and temperature/air pressure of the tyre.

Press Reviews
“Overall steering habits were excellent, with quick turn-in while trail-braking and midcorner line changes accomplished with ease. tyre feedback was communicative, with a firm but compliant feel that always let you know what was going on at the contact patch. Stability during hard braking was outstanding as well, with very little tread squirm. About the only gripe we could find with the R11 is that its firm carcass tended to be affected by bumps more than other tyres; but the Bridgestones never became nervous or flighty, and continued to track straight over pavement imperfections. Also, wear rates looked be on the moderate side (more so if your suspension settings aren’t optimum), especially on the rear of big-horsepower literbikes…but this is a race tyre, after all.” – Cycle World

“What stands out to me is how comfortable and predictable the new R11 is. It allows for aggressive, agile riding. At the same time, it doesn’t bite the hand that feeds and makes for great adjustments, even leaned over, regardless of the size of motorcycle you are on.
tyre wear on the liter bikes was even, which is impressive because we were now dealing with 160+ horsepower at the rear wheel. Superbikes tend to be abusive to rear tyres, as they encourage a more point-and-shoot riding style that leans on the bike’s brutal acceleration. We ran nearly a full track days’ worth of riding on a single set of tyres and I’d have been perfectly fine continuing.” – Ultimate Motorcycling

“The first thing I noticed about the rubber, even on my outlap, was how effortlessly the bike wanted to pitch into a corner and murder an apex” said Carl in the December issue of the magazine. “The rubber was hot from the get-go, so there was no delay in searching for elusive tenths as I got a bit ham-fisted with the R11s and started cranking on the throttle at big levels of lean.
“You could throw excessive load at them and not have to worry about the front end going walkies mid-corner, with stability and precision being showcased by the bucket load. Better still, the tyres proved just as stable on the straights as they were in the bends.” – Carl Stevens, Fast Bikes Magazine

“We tested the tyres at the Monteblanco circuit in southern Spain on a very hot day, on a very hot, abrasive track.
The R11 front delivers outstanding feel, and the contact patch instantly transmits every last fragment of grip to the rider. This happens across the full radius of the tyre, from upright to elbow-scraping levels of lean.
The rear tyre is an impressive step forward over the old R10 too, offering stunning side grip on a neutral throttle and lovely feedback as you pick the bike up.
Once the rear started to overheat, the slides were predictable, controllable and never alarming. Let’s see how the new R11 performs in cooler UK conditions.” – Adam Child, MCN

WHAT PEOPLE SAY ABOUT US
I wasn't sure the size inner tubes I needed, so rang. They were extremely helpful, friendly and gave me the information I needed. Within 5 minutes I had got my answers, tubes ordered, paid and receipted - wow. I am usually cautious about using someone for first time, and not local (I live in Notts). I do recommend Two Tyres. Great job guys.
Called up and was able to get an appointment for the same day to replace both tyres on my BMW R1200 GSA. Not only was it great to get seen so quickly, compared to the 5 week wait I had been quoted by Motorrad, but Chris was able to offer some advice and guidance on which tyres best suited my needs. I cannot praise the service enough from Chris and the team and I will definitely be back for my next set of tyres!
Great service from these guys, I ordered on line and accidentally ordered two items the same, maybe clicked twice waiting for the page to change. They called me to check this wasn't a mistake (which it was) and immediately refunded me for the accidental purchase and sent out just one item. I know I'll be using them to get my tyres & tubes in future.
