Ducati Scrambler History
Ducati’s Scrambler was introduced in 2015 as a sort of side-brand to Ducati. These fun and funky bikes have since captured the imagination of bikers who want simple bikes to enjoy at lower speeds and a bike they can easily customise. It’s fair to say, most Scrambler owners probably wouldn’t have considered a Ducati before the Scrambler was introduced.
Starting off with an 800 in 2015, the first bike used the 803cc engine that was also used in the Monster 796. The Sixty2 was introduced in 2016 and is an A2-friendly Scrambler that’s only 400cc. The Desert Sled was introduced in 2017 and although it is a Scrambler, it is also a proper off-road capable bike. There’s also a Mach 2 which was introduced in 2017 as an out of the box Custom Retro. There’s also the Cafe Racer, Full Throttle and now the Icon which amazingly includes cornering ABS.
So if you’re in any way inclined towards a retro-looking bike, or you just want a cool around-town motorcycle the Scrambler is a great bet.
There’s also a larger 1100 Scrambler which is aimed at attracting older more experienced riders and other Ducati owners who like the Scrambler style but want a bit more get-up-and-go.
Ducati Scrambler Stock Tyres
The Scramblers come on different tyres but the common tyre is the Pirelli MT60 RS
