R12 nineT Tyre Size
The 1170cc BMW runs a 120/70/17 front tyre and a 180/55/17 rear tyre. You can click those links to see all the different tyre options for this bike. BMW R nine 12T History
After a ten-year run and numerous spin-off models, BMW’s R nineT is set to retire in 2024. In honour of the motorcycle division’s 100th anniversary, the brand-new R12 nineT will take its place.
Sharing the same air-cooled boxer twin as its predecessor the new model’s enhancements centre on the chassis and technology while cleaning up the classic look and offering a huge number of customising choices to personalise each bike to its owner’s preferences. It still punches out healthy tyre-punishing figures – how does 85ftlb going through that rear tyre sound? Sounds like you need a decent tyre if you ask me..
If you’re wondering why the moniker ‘nineT’ still exists after the 2013 R nineT was introduced to commemorate BMW’s 90th year of motorcycle production and the R12 nineT arrives in the centenary year, it’s because the style is meant to trace back to the original R90 in 1973.
The R12 NineT gets lots of improvements over the outgoing model while keeping its iconic air-cooled boxer twin.

BMW R12 nineT Tyre Pressures
You can find your motorcycle manufacturer’s recommended tyre pressures in your owner’s handbook. You’ll also find a tyre pressure chart sticker on the swingarm.
If you have no idea what pressures to run, this is our general rule:
Scooter: F 30psi, R 30psi
Normal Motorcycle: F 36psi, R 42psi
Big Tourer: F 42psi, R 42psi
125cc Bike: F 33psi, R 36psi
