Triumph Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 Tyre Sizes
The Triumph Speed 400 runs a 110/70/17 front tyre and a 150/60/17 rear tyre. Â
The Triumph Scrambler 400 X runs a 100/90/19 front tyre and a 140/80/17 rear tyre. Â
As you’d expect for these slightly smaller capacity ‘big’ bikes, the tyres are also slightly narrower.Â
However there are still loads of good options. We get lots of enquiries from owners who want to fit the slightly wider front and rear tyres to the Speed 400. You can move to the wider 120/70-17 front and 160/60-17 rear, but we would stick with the original sizes as they’ll maintain the bike’s quick steering.
For the Scamrbler 400 X you can switch out the 100/90-19 front tyre for a slightly wider 110/80-19 and the rear to a 150/70-17, which will open up some more options for you.
With the stock tyre sizes you have plenty of choice, whether you want a tyre for Touring, Fast Road Riding, Green-laning or Commuting.
We can supply any tyre to you, anywhere in the UK (or around the world!). Or you can come to our workshop in South East London to have them fitted.
Triumph 400 History
First announced in 2023, Triumph have been quick to develop and launch their new single-cylinder 400s.
A joint-venture by Indian-firm Bajaj and Triumph, the new 400s are aimed at the younger end of the market but they’ve been surprisingly popular with experienced riders, who want a slice of back-to-basics fun.
We see lots of the Speed 400s being used for the daily commute in London.
