Press Reviews
“The MC360 is a strong performer. We tested in very sandy conditions, along with some thick dirt courtesy of a storm, plus a good dousing of mud. The rear MC360 offers strong bite in deep soil, be it wet or dry. We liked it’s hill climbing abilities, plus gave it good marks for versatility, as a good chunk of our testing is in rocks and harder pack dirt. The rear held up well to abuse, the edges remained strong, and there has been no chunking. In rockier terrain we felt decent deflection, as the sidewall strength fights the flex when you want grip. Still, we’ll sacrifice that for the ability to chew and release terrain, giving strong performance in loam; dry, deep sand; and nice hill-climbing ability.
Up front our results were very similar. It’s a strong performing tyre, offering good bite in deep corners, mated to balance and feel. It doesn’t turn under or push, but lets you concentrate on the terrain and not so much on how the tyre reacts to different input. In sand it’s poised, in the deep stuff it holds a line, and only in the rocks did we feel some bounce and deflection.
The Metzeler MC360 tyre combo gets a thumbs up for their ability to accept a good variety of intermediate-to-soft terrain, plus doesn’t trip over itself when it gets harder packed. Being DOT-legal makes it a strong dual-sport tyre, and during out testing, which was all enduro/off-road loops, it was flexible and adept as its job.” US magazine Dirt Bike,
“When Metzeler told us that the MC360 was a street-legal, DOT-approved, on-road tyre that could be used for anything from street to gravel to trail to ISDT to motocross, we had our doubts.
Verdict: Surprise! The MC360 was a very good intermediate-terrain rear tyre. It was very secure-feeling, hooked up well and rolled into corners with very little slippage.
Plus it wore like steel. Metzeler’s compound know-how allows it to build a tyre that grips the ground securely.
We would gladly race with the MC360s, front and rear.” Motocross Action Magazine

“We started by running the rear Metzeler MC360 first mated to a Dunlop MX3S front tyre to isolate the rear with a known front. Surprise! The MC360 was a very good intermediate-terrain rear tyre. It was very secure-feeling, hooked up well in a straight line and rolled into corners with very little slippage. Plus, it wore really well when used on the correct dirt (Metzeler makes an MC360 Mid-Hard for hard pack dirt).
MXA test riders only like a handful of front tyre while they will tolerate most rear tyres. The MC360 front looks like a sand tyre. It has five rows of knobs aligned longitudinally with the side knobs. The land/sea ratio is widely spaced down the centre, with larger blocks on the sides for cornering. In action, it feels like it presses the centre knobs into the ground for bite and then supports them with maximum rubber on the sides.
Bottom line? We would gladly race on these tyres (on the proper terrain). Metzeler’s compound know how allows them to build a tyre that grips the ground securely.
We won’t be riding the Metzeler MC360s on the pavement, but we will in the dirt.”- MX Action Magazine
