Kawasaki H2SX Tyre Guide

Kawasaki H2SX tyre sizes, the best tyre options, tyre pressures, reviews and more for the supercharged monster.

Kawasaki H2SX Tyre Size

The 998cc Kawasaki H2SX runs a 120/70/17 front tyre and a 190/55/17 rear tyre.  You can click those links to see all the different tyre options for this bike. As motorcycle tyre specialists, accredited by the major manufacturers, we can supply any tyre to you by mail order or you can have them fitted in our London motorcycle workshop.

These are common motorcycle tyre sizes and so you have plenty of choice, whether you want a tyre for Touring, Trackdays, Fast Road Riding, Budget tyres or High Mileage.

Kawasaki H2SX History

Kawasaki dominate the race tracks with the ZX-10R and they make the world’s fastest Sports Tourer in the ZZR1400. So I’m not sure how a Supercharged four-cylinder 998cc, TOURER ever made it out of the sketch book at Kawasaki HQ. But the fact this bike actually made it into production is testament to the fact that no matter how predictable the Japanese bikes seem to be, they always hit you with a left hook when you’re least expecting it.

It’s essentially the same powertrain as the original Kawasaki H2 and the stupidly expensive H2R.

Available in the standard H2SX and the H2SX SE, which is essentially the same bike but with factory panniers. Then there’s the H2 SX SE+ which has semi-active suspension Brembo Stylema radial calipers (as seen on top Superbikes), TFT dash and an arguably classier paint job.

If you absolutely positively have to be the first one to the bar in the South of France, it’s the tourer to go for.

Kawasaki H2SX Stock Tyres

The Kawasaki H2SX was supplied on the Bridgestone S21R tyre. This tyre has since been superceded by the S23 but it is still available.

Kawasaki H2SX Best Tyres

The H2 is a bit of a tyre muncher, partly due to the the way the supercharger torque boost is delivered to the rear wheel.

It’s a quick bike but at the end of the day it’s a Sports Tourer and not a sportsbike. The stock S21 tyre is decent but we recommend you fit a sticky road tyre rather than a road-legal trackday tyre that won’t warm up as quickly nor offer the same mileage.

Our best H2SX tyres are as follows:

Michelin Road 6

Metzeler Roadtec 02

Kawasaki H2SX Tyre Pressures

You can find your motorcycle manufacturer’s recommended tyre pressures in your owner’s handbook. You’ll also find a tyre pressure chart sticker on the swingarm.

If you have no idea what pressures to run, this is our general rule:

Scooter: F 30psi, R 30psi

Normal Motorcycle: F 36psi, R 42psi

Big Tourer: F 42psi, R 42psi

125cc Bike: F 33psi, R 36psi

You should always check your tyre pressures when the tyres are cold. Check out our range of motorcycle tyre pressure gauges here.

Give us a call or drop into our London motorcycle workshop and we’ll do our best to help you.

Are your tyre pressures letting you down?

We couldn’t find a tyre pressure gauge that was well-built, easy to get on-and-off the valve without pressure loss and could stand up to day-to-day abuse in our workshop. So we found a manufacturer to build one to our exacting standards.

We’re confident this is the best motorcycle pressure gauge out there. That’s why it comes with a 3-year, no-nonsense, money back guarantee.

Whether you want a digital tyre pressure gauge or a good old-fashioned analogue pressure gauge, we’ve got a gauge for you. Now you can quickly and easily check your pressures, to keep your bike handling well and to ensure you stay safe.
