Suzuki GSF600 Bandit Tyre Guide

Suzuki Bandit 600 tyre sizes, the best tyre options, tyre pressures, reviews and more for the no-frills commuter.

Suzuki Bandit GSF600 Tyre Size

The original Bandit 600 runs a 110/70/17 front tyre and a 150/70/17 rear tyre. The later versions ran a 120/60/17 and a 160/60/17 rear.

You can click those links to see all the different tyre options for this bike. As motorcycle tyre specialists, accredited by the major manufacturers, we can supply any tyre to you by mail order or you can have them fitted in our London motorcycle workshop.

These are common motorcycle tyre sizes and so you have plenty of choice, whether you want a tyre for Touring, Fast Road Riding, Budget tyres or High Mileage commuting tyres, we’ve got some choices for you.

Suzuki Bandit GSF600 History

If you were biking in the 1990s or 2000s then the chances are you have ridden a Bandit 600 or you know someone who has. They are as reliable as a sundial and were the staple of many a DAS motorcycle training school. The oil-cooled 599cc engine is about the only difference when compared to the Bandit 1200.

It’s an easy to use, no-frills motorcycle that does what it says on the tin.

The bike ran from 1996 to 2005 with barely any changes. Then Suzuki upped the capacity to 656cc and called it the Bandit 650. The 650 had sharper styling but the same budget-bike ethos. It’s a decent budget bike, nuff said.

Suzuki Bandit GSF600 Stock Tyres

The original Bandit 600 came fitted with Bridgestone Exedra G602 tyres, these are no longer in production and are so old, you definitely wouldn’t want to be riding around on them even if you could find a pair.

The later Bandit 650 came on Bridgestone BT-011 tyres and these too are long since retired.

Suzuki Bandit GSF600 Best Tyres

Bandit 600 owners don’t tend to want the latest greatest tyre. They choose tyres that are second tier. By that we mean tyres that offer good grip in all conditions, good wear rate and the number one factor is that they’re the best value for money, so they tend to be slightly older tyres or the budget tyres in a manufacturer’s range. And there’s nothing wrong with that.

Here are some good recommendations:

Bridgestone BT-023

Dunlop Roadsmart 2

Michelin Power 2CT

Suzuki Bandit GSF600 Tyre Pressures

You can find your motorcycle manufacturer’s recommended tyre pressures in your owner’s handbook. You’ll also find a tyre pressure chart sticker on the swingarm.

If you have no idea what pressures to run, this is our general rule:

Scooter: F 30psi, R 30psi

Normal Motorcycle: F 36psi, R 42psi

Big Tourer: F 42psi, R 42psi

125cc Bike: F 33psi, R 36psi

You should always check your tyre pressures when the tyres are cold. Check out our range of motorcycle tyre pressure gauges here.

We’re confident this is the best motorcycle pressure gauge out there. That’s why it comes with a 3-year, no-nonsense, money back guarantee.
