If you own a cruiser or a classic motorcycle and you want to give it that classic look by fitting whitewall motorcycle tyres, then you’re in the right place.
There aren’t that many white wall motorcycle tyres in production but we’ve listed every model you can buy in the UK. So whether you’re customising your Harley Davidson, or giving your Lambretta that ’60s look, you’ll find the tyres you need in this guide.
Whitewall tyres are just white-rimmed versions of a manufacturer’s normal non-whitewall motorcycle tyre. However not every classic motorcycle tyre is made in a whitewall spec, only the ones the manufacturers think will suit the sorts of bikes where owners more commonly customise them.
Interestingly, three of the major motorcycle tyre manufacturers are missing from this list. Currently Bridgestone, Michelin and Pirelli don’t make whitewall motorcycle tyres.
However, most of the major manufacturers produce at least one white side wall motorcycle tyre and we’ve listed every one that’s currently available:
Avon Cobra Chrome
The latest version of the original Cobra is the Cobra Chrome. The largest range of sizes available in the Cruiser and Custom tyre range available from any manufacturer and this one’s in whitewall finish. Click here to see the Avon Cobra Chrome stock and pricing.
Coker Beck DBL Classic Whitewall
We don’t stock this tyre and don’t know much about it except for the fact they’re around £350 a pair Ouch! Try eBay.
Continental ContiLegend White Wall

Continental ContiTwist White Wall
This one’s an interesting one. The Continental ContiTwist White Wall made in a 120/70-12 and a 130/70-12. Continental K62 WhiteWall

Dunlop D401
The Dunlop D401 White Wall comes in both a medium white line and the standard thicker one. They are an approved Harley Davidson fitment (they probably came on it when you bought it!) and extremely popular. The Harley Davidson lettering is also white and raised. Dunlop D402
Like the D401 the Dunlop D402 White Wall comes with raised Harley Davidson lettering. More suited to touring machines. These offer very good mileage and wet weather grip. Dunlop D407 + D408 Slim White Line
The Dunlop D407 rear fitment and D408 front fitment White Wall were released in 2014, the black walled versions were fitted as standard to Harley Davidson touring models including the StreetGlide and Softail models. Kenda K418 Scooter Whitewall
The Kenda K418 White Wall is great value for money tyre. Classic looks with modern performance. Available in sizes for the Vespa PX125 range and the GTS range. Maxxis 6011
The Maxxis M6011 White wall is a budget white wall tyre. Available in a a fair few sizes, the tread pattern is unusually the same for both ends of the bike. It is also available with black walls.
Metzeler ME888 Marathon Ultra WW
The triple eight is a Cruiser and Custom tyre, aimed at riders who want high mileage, stability and consistent handling at high and low speeds in all conditions. Shinko 240 & 270
Shinko makes great-looking tyres for custom bikes and they also produce a range of whitewall tyres. The 240 and 270 have a similar tread pattern but the 270 has a slightly higher profile and a lower load index. However both are fine for even the largest Harleys.
