We stock a large range of motorcycle brake pads. Call us with your requirements. If we don’t have your pads in stock, we can get them for you, usually the following day.
We can fit your new brake pads and recondition your calipers with our fast-fit service, so you’re good to go in no time.
Your brakes are the most important part of your motorcycle. It’s no exaggeration to say they could save your life. So it pays to keep on top of them and ensure they’re well maintained and up to the task of hauling you to a stop when that myopic pedestrian darts out into the road in front of you.
While it’s fairly easy to tell if your motorcycle’s brake pads need replacing, most routine motorcycle services don’t include cleaning and servicing your calipers, to ensure your braking system is in tip-top condition. Even if you only ride your bike on sunny days, the pistons can start to stick and your brake master-cylinder seals and brake lines can perish over time. If any part of your motorbike’s braking system isn’t performing as it should, it might not be up to the job when you need it the most.
Here at Two Tyres, our technicians are experts as servicing brakes and ensuring that your braking system properly serviced and ready to perform. Our motorcycle brake servicing packages cater for everything from replacing brake pads, to servicing calipers, changing to braided brake lines, replacing your old brake fluid or replacing your brake discs.
With the right tools, a home mechanic can easily replace brake pads. If you feel like you’re up to the task, we can advise and supply you with the right pads for your bike and your riding style. However, if you’d rather leave your bike in the hands of a professional, then book your bike in with us.
Motorcycle Brake Pad Replacement
The mileage you get from your brake pads varies on your bike, how you ride and where you ride. It’s easy enough to check your brake pads to see if they need replacing. You can even bring your bike to our workshop and we’ll advise you on how much life your pads have left in them. As a rough guide, a typical set of brake pads lasts around 10,000 miles, depending on the type of riding you do.
The original (OEM) brake pads on any modern motorcycle will do the job well, but aftermarket brake pads from quality brands such as SBS or Brembo will often perform better and cost less.
We can replace your brake pads for you. Our ride in, ride out fast-fit service will have you back on the road with fresh brake pads in no time.
Motorcycle Brake Fluid Replacement
Over time the efficiency and ability of your braking system will decrease as your brake fluid goes through heat cycles. As part of your motorcycle servicing schedule your brake fluid will be replaced but often this is missed. When you book in with us, we can advise you on the condition and quantity of brake fluid you’re running and refresh it where neccessary.
Motorcycle Caliper Rebuild Service
Our brake caliper rebuild service will get your brakes performing at their best. We carefully strip your caliper down to its component parts and then use quality brake cleaning solvents to remove brake dust build-up and rust. We then reassemble with new seals and use quality brake caliper grease to ensure your brakes operate smoothly and reliably for many miles to come. Our brake caliper rebuilds mean that your brakes will feel as good as new.
We can remove and refit your calipers or you can bring your loose calipers to our workshop where we can carry out a full service and rebuild. Our prices include all the required parts (new pressure seals, dust seals, bleed nipples, caliper half seals and dust covers).
Typical Brake Pad Replacement Prices
Every bike is different but as a rough guide, we charge around £30 to supply and fit a pair of quality brake pads. This includes the cleaning of your brake caliper pistons.
