Description
The TKC 80 Generation 2 is the next-generation off-road adventure tyre from Continental, described by the company as their “strongest off-road motorcycle tyre”. It is aimed at the travel enduro / adventure motorcycle segment — for riders demanding both on-road performance and genuine off-road capability.
The Continental TKC 80² Twinduro is an On and Off-Road tyre offering riders:
- Successor to the iconic Continental tire: over 40 years of experience meets cutting-edge technology.
- New tread design for maximum grip on- and off-road.
- Optimized carcass and new rubber compound for stability, traction and wet grip.
- Broad range of sizes for all popular travel enduros for real adventures.
- M + S RATED, a legal requirement in some countries for use during winter months.
Key Features & Innovations
Tread design optimised: The new tyre features larger and re-arranged tread blocks with more contact edges, staggered outer blocks, and geometry engineered for improved mechanical grip on loose surfaces such as mud, sand and gravel.

50 : 50 on/off-road balance: The carcass construction has been specifically developed to handle half paved road, half off-road use — giving stability when fully loaded and comfort across mixed terrain.

New rubber compound: The compound is designed for improved wear resistance, and robust grip in wet and cold conditions (incorporating Continental’s RainGrip technology).

Puncture / damage protection: The tyre is engineered for high protection against punctures and damage — especially beneficial for remote off-road riding.

All sizes are of a tubeless design but will work with tubes if your wheel requires them.

Technical Features
Profile Design:
- TKC 80: Every second row has gaps (2), and the uneven edge lengths (1) reduce mechanical interaction, resulting in less off-road performance.
- TKC 80²: Each row has longer, equal-length edges (1) and gaps (2), ensuring consistent traction, resulting in great off-road performance.
- TKC 80²: Staggered shoulder blocks (3) boost grip in soft terrain by increasing edge engagement.
Footprint:
Bigger footprint area in critical wear zone with a net area increase of +17%.
This allows for:
- Better highspeed stability.
- More grip.
- Better wear picture.

An off-road biased tyre and about as knobbly as it gets. The 804/805 combination is a good adventure-bike pick for riders who predominantly ride proerly off-road. For light trails and tarmac, these are overkill.
