HARLEY LITHIUM BATTERY GUIDE
Here at Two Tyres we use and recommend these lightweight lithium Harley Davidson batteries, which weigh approximately 20% of your Harley’s standard lead-acid battery. For this 65989 / VTB-1 fitment, this results in a saving of a massive 5kg compared to stock. All of our JMT batteries come with a 24-month warranty and they are a straight swap for your existing battery.
Unlike some motorcycle battery brands, these batteries are not made in the Far East. They are manufactured in Germany and subject to rigorous testing and strict quality control. They are the OE fitment for some motorcycle manufacturers, including KTM.
Lithium motorcycle batteries have just 10% of the self-discharge rate of a lead-acid battery, meaning you can leave it for months and the battery won’t die.
Our lithium-ion motorbike batteries are 100% safe to use. They are constructed using iron phosphate (LiFePO4) as the cathode material and use the lithium-polymer process in their manufacturing. This means that it is not possible for them to catch fire or explode in normal operation, which can happen with some cheap, low-quality batteries.
Designed specifically for Harleys with excellent vibration resistance. A built-in processor ensures that all cells charge efficiently, prolonging battery life. Another plus point is that they have a higher cranking ability than a lead-acid battery, which is useful when it comes to cranking over large v-twin engines.
