You should change your tyre valve every time you change your tyres.
Tyre valves cost pennies so it’s a false economy to try and keep hold of them when you change your tyres.
If you’re storing your bike for a longer period of time, check your rubber valves for any cracks of signs of perishing. Your local motorcycle tyre shop will be able to switch your valves for you, for a small fee.
Metal valves
However if you have metal tyre valves these will last for a longer amount of time. They can be reused time and time again.
We estimate that you’ll get around 10 years from a pair of metal angled valves, which for most riders will outlast their ownership of the bike.
Metal angled valves are a good investment as they make it easier for you to access the tyre pressure valve to check and adjust your pressures.
