On some of the old slicks you could if there was no directional arrow on them, although these slicks are no longer produced and you’ll struggle to get hold of them now.
All the recent tyres like Bridgestone V02s are rotational and you will find that they could start to open up if you run them in the wrong direction. You’ll see this by the fact the joins on the tread will start to show. In the best case scenario you’ll feel that as a vibration through the handlebars but in the worst case scenario the tyre will delaminate – and pretty quickly.
