The popular models include the Michelin Pilot Road 5, Bridgestone T31, Metzeler Roadtec 01 and Pirelli Angel GT. These are the premium tyres that have a sporty profile, loads of edge grip and a harder compound central belt, to give the best wear rate and long life, even on large tourers like the R1250RT and powerful hypersports tourers like the Kawasaki ZZR1400. Compared to the OEM tyres on your tourer, these will turn faster and give you lots more feel and confidence. Some riders even tell us that we’ve transformed their bike when all we did is fit new tyres!
For those on a budget, there’s a great range of tyres for touring motorcycles including Bridgestone BT023, Continental Road Attack 2 and the Metzeler Z8.
Touring tyres are also offered in HWM or GT variations which have a stronger construction and are designed to support the larger tourers and fully-loaded bikes, ensuring the handling stays crisp and predictable.
